Hotel Tides

By admin

hotel-tides-1Hotel Tides, Located at 408 Seventh Avenue in Asbury Park, is the town’s first and finest example of a boutique hotel. No detail that has been overlooked in this newly renovated, hundred year old hotel.

I recently was afforded the opportunity to tour the hotel with the owner and operator, Martin Santomenno. The exterior of the hotel has a quiet and unassuming look, fitting into Asbury’s traditional beach architecture. Upon entering the hotel’s lobby, I was blown away by the luxurious finishes, marble tile floors, and craftsmanship of the restoration. In true Asbury Park fashion the lobby of the hotel also serves as a gallery space. The gallery will feature both international and local artists and the space will present poetry and book readings, as well as selected performance art works.

The rear of the hotel brings us to the Tides bar /lounge area and French-fusion style restaurant. There is a beautifully restored metallic tin ceiling and walls should not be overlooked. An outdoor pool and separate spa house provide additional amenities to the personalized attention a guest will receive in this 22 room hotel. Each room provides the weary traveler a bed dressed in Egyptian cotton sheets, pillow top mattresses, and tons of overstuffed pillows. The beautiful white duvets covers, I was assured, are washed after each guest, which puts to rest any fear of filthy hotel coverlets.

I expect the Tides Hotel, which has greatly diversified its services to include a spa, restaurant, bar and art gallery, to do well and flourish. I highly recommend this new accommodation when preparing your plans for an overnight or extended stay while vacationing in Asbury Park.
