Summer’s Over, but Pay Parking Just Got Started
Well, after a successful and very busy labor day weekend in Asbury Park, I’m somewhat relieved its over. Its one of my favorite times of year – still warm, yet only locals seem to be around. Surf’s up and the beach is a bit more private.
One of my few complaints surrounds the newly-opened paid parking at the beach front. I live in town, and although i walk or ride a bike to the beach, I’ve heard nothing but complaints. Granted, its only $.50 for the time we spend , but I still think Its a bit premature. I’ve heard that City Hall has had over 300 complaints from people complaining that the system isn’t very self-explanatory, and is down right confusing. I agree, some further direction wouldn’t hurt.
Well, come on down anyway, if you’re willing to walk 2 blocks you can get free parking above Kingsley St. Just don’t park in my spot!
