Toxic Sunset Lake

By admin

toxic1Saturday, May 2, 2009 – An afternoon walk in Sunset Park revealed groups of ‘Parkers wondering what was going on in the waters of Sunset Lake. Surprisingly, there actually were fish living in the lake – but not any more. 12″+ size fish were floating upside down in the lake today, left dead from an unknown poison in the waters. We weren’t the only ones who noticed; ducks, black swans, even the geese wouldn’t eat the fish or enter the water. What’s going on in our seaside community?

How about a story on Wesley Lake? It looks more toxic than Sunset, and as the founding member of the Cookman Ave Residents Association, we are looking to get involved on the clean-up and preservation of what could be the gem of downtown Asbury Park.

Hi- We would love to have you submit an article on this very important issue. New residents in town are not aware that a group exists!
